Hi, I’m Dr. Gearhart from Shephard Clinic. And today I’d like to talk to you about the technique that we specialize in. Within chiropractic, there are a lot of different techniques out there, and the majority of them use a manual-based technique that would involve movement or twisting of the spine. A thrust would be put in, popping of the spine would occur. Now with this technique, we don’t worry about that type of thing. The patient is laying very relaxed, very comfortable. If there’s a lot of pain or spasms, we don’t have to contort the body into a different position in order to achieve the adjustment. Now, we do that with an instrument based technique. The instrument that we use to perform the adjustment is called the Arthrostim. The Arthrostim uses repetitive impact to correct the fixations or bio-mechanical dysfunctions in the spine that are leading to your musculoskeletal pain.

So it can help with low back pain, mid back pain, neck pain, issues of pain down the legs, or the arms headaches, things of that nature. The repetitive impact, is a very comfortable and gentle procedure. We control the force that’s used. So here’s, here’s what it sounds like demonstrated here in just a second.

The next component to the instrument based adjustment is called the Vibracusser the Vibracusser is this instrument here and specialty works with trigger point reduction. It works with adhesions or scar tissue that can form in and along the spine, as well as in a muscle tissue that comes off the spine, the legs, the arms, this is also an instrument that we can control the forces involved. This is a very comfortable, and typically this instrument is everyone’s favorite because it feels like a deep tissue massage.
